Tom Hiddleston is having more than his share of fun portraying the god of mischief Loki. While the early word was that Loki would face each Avenger individually, nothing further had been confirmed. However, In the latest issue of Total Film, Hiddleston revealed some interesting details about his altercation with two of Marvel’s mightiest heroes. “I had huge fun with Chris Evans, as Captan America, because super-solider though he may be, he’s still a man, up against a God who in his own mind is infinitely superior,” Hiddleston said. “Then, in the ring with The Hulk, we’ve got this silver tongued, lightening quick mind up against the embodiment of rage. Loki has this mercurial, transformative ability, not just physically but intellectually, so not all the fights are purely physical. Mind games? Maybe.” The implications are interesting as a fight against a mind-controlled Hulk was the catalyst that brought Marvel’s elite team together in the first issue of The Avengers original comic book series. Will the plot of the movie be directly inspired by the the source material? We’ll find out when Marvel’s The Avengers hits the big screen this May 4.
